    About the Role

    We are looking for a seasoned media sales leader to help position the FOS brand to advertisers and agencies with excitement and drive growth at a pivotal time in the company’s lifecycle. Front Office Sports is a fast-paced, high-growth organization and the ideal candidate should have experience developing a roster of both B2B and B2C brand partners.

    The ideal person for this role will already and build deep relationships, lead new initiatives, and represent the FOS brand.  Our Director of Brand Partnerships (Midwest) will work closely with and report to our Chief Revenue Officer.

     

    Key Responsibilities

    • Represent the Front Office Sports brand in the advertising marketplace 
    • Responsible for driving revenue by selling integrated packages to potential partners
    • Prospect, cultivate, develop and maintain relationships with high-level advertising decision-makers at brands and agencies
    • Engage and remain in communication with brand partners throughout the entire activation process from post-sales kick-off through campaign execution and wrap-up
    • Build custom partnership proposals and presentations for potential brand clients

     

    Ideal Skills and Qualifications

    • 5+ years of digital media sales experience and a proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales goals
    • Knowledgeable and passionate about digital media, brand marketing, and strategic partnerships
    • Strong personal relationships with key brand and agency stakeholders 
    • A strong understanding of media sales packaging and selling digital sponsorships
    • Previous success driving RFPs and winning new business
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Experience selling native newsletter advertising products is a plus

    About the Role

    The VP of Creative Strategy is responsible for managing the planning and creation of reactive and proactive proposals and sales materials. This person must be able to strike a balance between exceptional project management skills, strong leadership skills, and a creative point of view; while also being able to work collaboratively with team members to usher in the strongest ideas possible.

    The ideal person for this role will have a focus on working collaboratively with our internal editorial and social teams, supporting our sales and brand partnerships team, as well as a small team of their own, while forecasting through a strategic lens, and also taking the lead on new creative initiatives. 

     

    Key Responsibilities

    • Partner with the sales team to develop insights-driven marketing strategies
    • Meet and exceed brand objectives, assist in driving advertising revenue, deliver on RFP responses and proposals 
    • Plan and Ideate custom proactive solutions and position them appropriately for brand partners
    • Attend media/marketing calls with brand advertisers and/or agencies to identify client needs, lead internal briefing sessions of cross-disciplinary teams, develop response proposals ensuring content ideas are purposeful, on-brand, and on-strategy, and pitch ideas succinctly & effectively
    • Weave insights and ideas into compelling, coherent stories using PowerPoint, Keynote, and other desktop design applications
    • Create sales materials including presentations, one-sheets, and other sales collateral

     

    Ideal Skills and Qualifications

    • 5+ years of experience building proposal decks and marketing materials as they relate to RFP and proactive responses for a digital or print publisher; Knowledge of sports and/or business publishing a plus
    • Experience leading brainstorms and concepts around a range of sales categories 
    • Minimum 2 years experience managing a team of 2+
    • Strong creative, writing, and storytelling skills, with experience weaving in RFP language to create customized submissions
    • Expert in Apple’s Keynote 
    • Self-starter eager to build new programs, processes, and initiatives for the overall growth of the business
    • Knowledge and understanding of relevant media platforms (newsletter, onsite, multimedia, social, etc.) as well as nuances between custom and editorial content
    • Incredibly organized with the ability to project manage and produce your own work and collaborate across teams clearly and confidently

    Front Office Sports is looking for a freelance breaking news writer to produce daily news stories. The ideal candidate should either have a background covering breaking business news, as well as experience with cross-platform content creation. We are looking for writers with a deep passion for covering the impact of sports on wide-ranging topics that include business deals, retail, crypto, media, real estate, and more. If you are a news junkie and enjoy covering the power and influence sports have on business and culture, this job is for you!

     

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Closely monitor the latest business and sports news and find fresh angles and trends impacting players, teams, leagues, fans, and brands across a wide swath of topics such as deals, gaming, markets, media, real estate, technology, and more.
    • Produce at least 5 news stories/articles daily for the Front Office Sports website  
    • Attend daily news meetings to discuss story ideation and line-ups
    • Report to the Senior News Editor and you will pitch and accept story assignments to be written on the deadline  
    • Deliver clean, clear-sighted copy while rigorously adhering to a daily deadline
    • Desire to engage on social media to promote your work, the work of colleagues, and the broader FOS brand.
    • Must have the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and share information

     

    Ideal Skills and Qualifications:

    • 3+ years of writing experience in business/sports media with strong writing skills
    • Experience working in a breaking news environment

    Front Office Sports is looking for an experienced reporter to be one of two authors of its daily flagship newsletter. The ideal candidate has a background in business reporting, can break news, and deliver impactful scoops and insight to one of the most influential audiences in all of the media. If you are a news junkie who wants to deliver daily content to more than 750K subscribers and enjoy covering the influence of sports on business and culture, this job is for you!

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Writing the twice-daily flagship newsletter and weekend long-form editions
    • Unearthing news, trends, and developments to break news as well as to work on in-depth, longer-term projects 
    • Maintain and develop a network of sources to help generate news scoops, story ideas, and insights to share with readers
    • Anticipate major news events around sports tent poles and plan ahead as possible to cover them
    • Act as one of the faces of the flagship newsletter and engage on social media to promote your work, the work of colleagues, and the broader FOS brand
    • Must have the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and share information

    Ideal Skills and Qualifications:

    • 8+ years of business reporting experience with extremely strong writing and reporting skills
